A 23-year-old woman died at the scene of a two-car collision on the southbound A13 near the Ferry Lane slip road in Rainham. A 21-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman from the same vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 24-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit. The road remained closed overnight as police continued their investigation, and witnesses were urged to contact authorities with information.

A recent food hygiene inspection by Havering Council rated the Sam 99p store in Romford’s Market Place one out of five, citing major required improvements.
