A Northern Ireland teenager, Sophie Lennon, has been cast as one of the four leads in Disney’s revival film The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen after beating 300,000 auditionees. The 16-year-old, experienced in major talent competitions and stage work, is now training and filming in South Africa while managing school commitments and keeping the project secret until it was announced. Her character, Brooklyn, was adapted to be Irish-American, and Lennon is also receiving record deal interest as she pursues both acting and music careers.
