Padraig Harrington denied by Zach Johnson in Portugal Invitational
Zach Johnson won the inaugural Portugal Invitational at The Els Club in Vilamoura with a seven-under-par final round, finishing at 19 under and two strokes ahead of Stewart Cink. Padraig Harrington, the reigning US Senior Open champion, placed third at 15 under after erratic iron play, missed putts and a water-related bogey. Hosted by Ernie Els, the $3 million tournament was the first officially sanctioned PGA Tour Champions event in Portugal and featured a prominent senior-golf field.
