Iran issues chilling warning to Royal Family and threatens UK bases over bomber strikes
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has warned that any base used to attack Iranian territory is a legitimate target and specifically urged the British monarchy not to deepen its involvement. The warning followed reports that a US B-1 bomber mission against Iranian targets may have launched from RAF Fairford, which the UK permits the US Air Force to use as a forward base. The UK government declined to comment on foreign military operations, while Keir Starmer has reportedly allowed defensive US strikes but avoided committing British forces directly. The warning comes amid renewed US-Iran hostilities, increased American military deployments in the Middle East and growing disruption in the Red Sea after the Iran-aligned Houthis attacked oil tankers and announced a Bab al-Mandeb blockade, contributing to oil prices rising above $100 per barrel.
