Dog expert ends debate on 7 breeds that will ‘destroy your life’
Dog trainer Tom Davis identifies the Siberian Husky, Jack Russell Terrier, Belgian Malinois, Chow Chow, Cane Corso, Border Collie and German Shepherd as breeds that can become extremely difficult to manage when their exercise, training, socialization and instinctive needs are ignored. He emphasizes that none are inherently bad, but unsuitable homes, irresponsible breeding and owners’ failure to provide structure can lead to destructive, anxious, aggressive or obsessive behavior. German Shepherds rank first largely because their popularity and overbreeding increase the likelihood of health and temperament problems.

A canine behaviour expert names three popular dog breeds he would never own
Canine behaviourist Will Atherton says he would not personally own Spaniels, Border Collies or Dachshunds. He praises Spaniels and Border Collies for their abilities in field and herding work but considers their high energy and drive poorly suited to many family homes; he is particularly concerned about Border Collies herding or nipping children. He says Dachshunds commonly exhibit excessive barking, separation anxiety and reactivity on walks. Atherton recommends choosing a breed whose natural temperament better matches the owner’s lifestyle rather than trying to suppress difficult behaviours.

Poll: Should drivers over 70 be banned?
The UK Government is considering mandatory eyesight tests for drivers aged 70 and over, alongside possible cognitive testing, as part of efforts to reduce deaths and serious injuries on the roads. Drivers already renew their licences every three years after turning 70 and must declare that they meet health and eyesight requirements, but they do not currently undergo compulsory skills or health checks. Those who fail minimum eyesight standards could have their licences revoked. The proposed measures aim to improve safety without unnecessarily limiting older people’s mobility, while the article asks readers whether drivers over 70 should be banned subject to further testing.
