Shamed easyJet flight attendant who stole from airport is now working at Tesco
Former easyJet cabin crew member Lyren Maddix stole more than £30,000 worth of Amber Leaf tobacco from Manchester Airport on 26 occasions between August 2024 and January 2025, using his uniform and security pass to access restricted areas and an aircraft. He told police he sold the tobacco to fund cocaine use and drug debts. Maddix, who has a depressive disorder diagnosis and a history of suicidal behavior, pleaded guilty to theft by employee. Manchester Crown Court sentenced him to one year and four months in prison, suspended for two years, along with 250 hours of unpaid work, rehabilitation requirements and £300 in costs. He no longer works for easyJet and is now employed by Tesco.
