Hero paramedic saved dad's life in dramatic Birmingham Airport incident
Richard Chambers, a 33-year-old father from Hinckley, survived a cardiac arrest at Birmingham Airport after his family's delayed flight left an off-duty paramedic nearby to administer emergency treatment. Bystanders performed CPR and retrieved a defibrillator, allowing the paramedic to revive him. Doctors later diagnosed Chambers with an previously unknown genetic heart condition, prompting testing for the rest of the family. His wife Alex said the intervention prevented their children from losing their father.
