Jamie Carragher urged Manchester City to cancel Rodri’s expected transfer to Barcelona after City lost 3-0 to Arsenal in the Community Shield. Arsenal scored through Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz and Martin Ødegaard, while City’s new head coach Enzo Maresca acknowledged that Rodri’s future remains uncertain while the transfer window is open.

Manchester United have completed the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Cristian Orozco and are continuing to assess additions in midfield, at left-back and in defence. Lewis Hall remains the preferred left-back target, but Newcastle are unwilling to sell, prompting interest in Fulham’s Antonee Robinson. The club is also monitoring several other players, including Jhon Lucumí, Ibrahim Mbaye, Kaua Elias and Morgan Gibbs-White. Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly nearing a loan move to Juventus, while Marcus Rashford increasingly appears set for reintegration into Michael Carrick’s first team. United’s pursuit of Aurélien Tchouaméni could be complicated if Real Madrid fail to sign Rodri, and goalkeepers Altay Bayındır and Radek Vitek are preparing to leave.
