I’m SNP to my core, says Sturgeon as she rules out joining Greens
Nicola Sturgeon has ruled out leaving the Scottish National Party or joining the Scottish Greens, saying she is “SNP to my core” and will never belong to another party. Her remarks follow criticism of the SNP’s recent election campaign in the foreword to her memoir. Former colleagues Mairi McAllan and John Swinney rejected or challenged that criticism, while Sturgeon praised Swinney’s leadership and the SNP’s election victory. She also warned the SNP and other parties not to shift rightward in response to growing support for Reform UK.

Sandie Peggie employment tribunal appeal to go ahead next year
The Employment Appeal Tribunal has confirmed that Sandie Peggie’s challenge to an employment tribunal ruling can proceed to a full hearing, likely in early 2027. Peggie, a nurse who took action against NHS Fife after sharing a changing room with transgender doctor Beth Upton, won a harassment claim in December 2025 but lost allegations of discrimination, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Judge James Tayler found reasonable grounds for all 13 grounds of appeal. Claims against Upton were dismissed, and NHS Fife has been asked to comment.
