Brantwood in Coniston is hosting two guided biofluorescent night walks on September 13, allowing visitors aged eight and above to view plants, fungi and insects under UV light. The approximately 90-minute walks cover up to two miles of the estate, with torches and safety glasses provided. New Cumbria Tourism Campaign Promotes Westmorland and Yorkshire Dales
Cumbria Tourism has launched the “Cumbria’s Westmorland & Yorkshire Dales…Let’s Go” campaign to encourage visitors to stay longer and explore more of the region. Its centerpiece is a five-minute film featuring more than 30 member businesses, supported by shorter videos, photography, social media content and visitor itineraries. The campaign highlights locations including Kirkby Lonsdale, Sedbergh, Dent, Appleby and Kirkby Stephen, as well as the Yorkshire Dales and Howgill Fells, while promoting sustainable travel options through the inclusion of Stagecoach and Northern. Tourism and local business representatives say the campaign will raise the profile of attractions, hospitality businesses and cultural venues across the area.
