Yunis Dekow is a seasoned journalist with over a decade of experience in news and media planning, production, management, and distribution for both local and international media. Currently, he serves as the Treasurer of the Crime Journalists Association of Kenya and the Secretary General of Read moreNorthern Kenya Media Practitioners. Dekow also writes for the Eastleigh Voice Newspaper and is the founder of Royal Halann, a media strategy company in Nairobi. A University of Nairobi graduate, he was appointed Program Consultant for CNCPT CREATIVE, where he leads the creation of engaging communication materials for Kenyan projects.

Dekow's career highlights include roles as Broadcast and Digital Editorial Director for Dalsan Media Group in Mogadishu and Public Press Information Officer for the African Union and United Nations in Somalia. He has also led teams at CBA TV in Somaliland and Radio Midnimo in Kenya, revamping editorial approaches and developing multimedia projects. As a senior editor and show host for Star FM, he oversaw daily operations and produced impactful radio programs and documentaries.
