Fenway Sports Group has agreed to sell about 30% of Liverpool to 1892 Holdings, a consortium led by Amit Bhatia and including Jeff Bezos and Eduardo Saverin. FSG will retain majority ownership and operational control, while Bhatia is expected to become vice-chairman subject to regulatory approval. The deal reportedly values Liverpool at £5bn-£6bn and could give the consortium a future path to majority ownership, although no sale commitment has been made. The investment will not create a separate transfer budget. FSG is attracted by the consortium's global business and investment reach, while supporters have questioned whether the deal is a trophy purchase and expressed concerns about Bezos's record at Amazon. LIV Golf players have reportedly been told that the season-ending Team Championship in Michigan is likely to be cancelled, with tickets no longer available and the league yet to issue an official announcement. The Indiana event scheduled for 23 August may therefore be LIV’s final tournament of 2026.
