British Paralympics medallist insists 'I never cheated' after receiving brutal two-year ban
British para-cyclist Daphne Schrager, who won silver for Great Britain at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, has received a two-year ban after testing positive for a trace amount of Ligandrol. Schrager denies ever knowingly taking a banned substance and argued that environmental contamination from a gym or shared home caused the result. A tribunal accepted that she had not intentionally used Ligandrol and was not reckless, but ruled that she had failed to establish the precise source of contamination, making the ban mandatory under the rules. Backdated to June 2, 2025, the suspension ends on June 1, 2027, leaving open the possibility of a return at the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.
