Chipping Campden School celebrates GCSE results
Students at Chipping Campden School achieved the school’s best GCSE results in seven years, with more than a quarter of grades at 7–9 and over 80% of entries graded 4 or above. Principal Gareth Burton credited students’ commitment, along with support from families, staff and the wider school community. Many Year 11 students are expected to continue into the school’s Sixth Form, preparing for university, apprenticeships or employment.

Cotswold School A-Level Results 'Outstanding' as 99.4% Pass
The Cotswold School has reported highly successful A-Level results, with 99.4% of students passing and 90% achieving A* to C grades; more than 40% of grades were A* or A. Students are progressing to universities including Oxford, Exeter and Manchester. Jackson Carter, Riley Fox and Will Jackson were singled out for outstanding results, while sixth-form head Phil White and headteacher Will Morgan praised students, staff and families for their effort and support.

Three thieves caught on CCTV in Longborough
Three suspected thieves were captured on CCTV carrying torches near a building site and outbuildings in the Ganborough Road area of Longborough at about 3 a.m. on August 6, 2026. Building tools and equipment were reportedly stolen from two properties. Gloucestershire Constabulary is asking anyone with relevant CCTV, doorbell footage or images to contact investigators, quoting incident 0046 of 06/08/2026.

Man Dies After Field Fire Breaks Out in Chipping Campden
A man in his 70s from the Chipping Campden area died at the scene of a large field fire behind Berrington Road and Castle Gardens on 3 August. Police said they do not suspect third-party involvement and informed the man’s family and the coroner. Thirteen fire engines, three ambulances, an air ambulance and other emergency units attended the multi-agency response, which included support from neighbouring fire services.

Queens Avenue Play Park cordoned off after large crack found
A section of Queens Avenue Play Park in Shipston-on-Stour has been fenced off after a significant crack was found in the concrete surface during an inspection. Shipston Town Council asked the public not to enter the affected area while repairs are arranged; the remainder of the park remains open.

Power tools and chainsaw stolen during Todenham burglary
Power tools and a chainsaw were stolen from a garage on Wolford Road in Todenham between 10pm on July 20 and 7am on July 21. Gloucestershire Constabulary is asking anyone with information to quote incident number 98 21/7/26.

Redesdale Hall Phase 2 restoration work to begin in August
Safety barriers have been installed around Redesdale Hall in Moreton after failing roof safety netting created a risk of falling tiles. The second phase of restoration, involving replacement of the roof, is expected to begin toward the end of August. The project has raised most of its approximately £1 million target, including £200,000 from Cotswold District Council, but the Redesdale Hall Trust is still seeking about £35,000 through donations and its “buy a tile” fundraising scheme.

Fish n Frolics Festival 2026: Everything you need to know
Shipston Angling Club’s Fish n Frolics Festival returns for its thirteenth year, combining junior fishing competitions with a music festival to raise funds for the club’s youth programs. The Redesdale Arms to reopen as The Redesdale in Moreton
A 17th‑century inn on Moreton High Street will reopen on July 31 under the new name The Redesdale following extensive refurbishment by Brakspear, which added the property to its Honeycomb Houses portfolio after acquiring it in April 2025. The redesign preserves original features while adding updated dining, bar and accommodation spaces, including 33 guest rooms. The refreshed menu will be led by senior Honeycomb Houses chefs, and Brakspear’s CEO highlights the inn’s fit within the company’s wider managed pub estate.

Brothers Paul and David Clarke are opening Clarke Aquatics on Port Street in Evesham, offering marine, tropical and freshwater fish along with food and treatments.
