The Strawberry Line, a walking and cycling route in Somerset following a former railway line, has been nominated as one of Britain’s favourite paths in a national competition run by Ramblers. Local advocates, including the Strawberry Line Society, welcomed the recognition as a reward for ongoing efforts to extend and maintain the route. Somerset Council and the Mendip Hills National Landscape have recently contributed funding to support further development. Other paths across the UK were also shortlisted in the public vote, which will determine the 2026 winner.
