Jamal Musiala says he has been diagnosed with temporary, brief and treatable absence seizures caused by a neurological dysfunction after collapsing during Bayern Munich's pre-season match against FC Heidenheim. The episode followed a similar incident against RB Leipzig days earlier. Musiala says he is receiving medical care, has no further health risks according to experts, and has been cleared by neurologists to continue playing while keeping the matter private. Bayern won the match 4–2, and Musiala is expected to remain focused on the new season after recovering from a previous fractured ankle.

FIFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against the Argentine Football Association over a Falklands sovereignty banner displayed after Argentina's semi-final victory over England, as well as alleged discriminatory chants, gestures, protocol breaches and spectator misconduct during several matches. Argentina ultimately lost the final 1–0 to Spain, whose victory was secured by Ferran Torres in extra time.
