Drug driver who caused Southminster crash is jailed
A 52‑year‑old driver, Michael Moore, was sentenced to 13 months in prison and banned from driving for two and a half years after admitting dangerous and drug driving that caused a head‑on crash injuring four people, including three children. The court heard he had taken cocaine before overtaking on a blind bend and initially denied responsibility, claiming steering issues with his car. Victim impact statements detailed physical injuries, anxiety and ongoing trauma. The judge described Moore’s actions as a deliberate disregard for rules.
