UK's Most Dangerous Swimming Spots Mapped — and Three Are in Yorkshire
At least 43 people have reportedly drowned in open water across the UK since May, including several in Yorkshire. The Mirror’s Save Lives for Sam campaign, launched in memory of Sam Haucock, has mapped drowning locations and is calling for a government awareness campaign, mandatory school water-safety lessons, improved safety equipment at high-risk sites, tougher penalties for damaging or stealing equipment, and a dedicated Minister for Water Safety.
