About David

David O'Dornan is a journalist based in Belfast in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom with a wealth of media experience across the print and broadcast media and a bulging contacts book built up over 25 years.
I have enjoyed progression and promotion throughout my career, from reporter through to management in newspapers and in broadcast journalism at the BBC working on big productions and editing teams at the top level.
I have been part of award-winning newspapers, radio and TV programmes and know what makes good content. I am hard-working, creative, enthusiastic and highly motivated and I can work on my own initiative but also as part of a team.
After 18 years in staff roles at various newspapers and at the BBC, from April 2019 I have been a freelance content supplier for the print media and freelance producer for television.
I cover a wide range of briefs but specialise in news, sport, arts and entertainment, as well as Northern Ireland and Ireland stories. My clients include the Daily Mail Group of titles, Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, People, Daily Star, Daily Star Sunday, The Sun and The Sun on Sunday, and the BBC.
