Son stole £21,000 from dad and claimed it was spent on Harley-Davidson parts
Former soldier Peter Jones stole approximately £21,000 from his father, Robert Jones, through bank transfers, cash withdrawals and credit-card payments between August 2023 and May 2024. He falsely claimed some of the money was being used to buy Harley-Davidson parts, but the funds were spent largely on heroin and crack cocaine. His niece Louise Jones discovered suspicious transactions and alerted the authorities. Jones, who has a history of addiction and trauma, pleaded guilty to three counts of fraud and received an 18-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months, along with 20 days of rehabilitation activity.
