Calls for reduction of 60mph speed limit on 'dead end' Rickmansworth road
More than 100 people have signed a petition urging Hertfordshire County Council to reduce the 60mph speed limit on Long Lane in Rickmansworth to 30mph or 20mph. Petitioners describe the narrow, unlit and winding road as unsuitable for high-speed traffic and cite risks to residents, families visiting Woodoaks Farm, children travelling to The Reach Free School and local wildlife, including hedgehogs. The petition remains open until August 11 and could be considered by a council panel if it reaches 250 signatures or by the full council if it reaches 1,000.
