A total solar eclipse will occur on August 12, 2026, with totality visible in parts of northern Russia, Greenland, Iceland, Spain, and Portugal, while portions of Europe, North America, and northwest Africa will see a partial eclipse. Ukraine will not experience totality, but partial coverage will be visible mainly in western regions after 20:00, ranging from about 43% in Uzhhorod to 2.67% in Kyiv. Viewers should use ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses or indirect projection methods and must not look at the Sun through ordinary sunglasses, cameras, telescopes, or binoculars without appropriate filters.
