My baby died after hospital sent him home - I still can't visit his grave
Heather Hinshelwood says she still finds it too painful to visit the grave of her six-month-old son Jaime, who died in 2017 after Wishaw General Hospital reportedly diagnosed a viral illness and sent him home. A post-mortem confirmed undetected Kawasaki disease, which caused a fatal coronary artery aneurysm. Heather now works with the charity Societi to improve recognition of the rare inflammatory condition, raises funds for bereavement support and plans to walk the West Highland Way in Jaime’s memory. The article also highlights Kawasaki disease symptoms, its potential cardiac complications and other recent cases involving children.
