Reading's Rutherford Cancer Centre to reopen after four years
Reading's Rutherford Cancer Centre is due to reopen under Australian healthcare company Icon Group, which plans to begin operating from the site as early as 2027. The centre closed in 2022 after its previous operator became insolvent. Icon Group says it is interested in exploring NHS contracts and public-private partnerships to help reduce cancer-care waiting times, while staffing shortages remain a major challenge.
