Groundworks begin on Glencoe Folk Museum's £3m refurbishment
Groundworks have begun on the £3m refurbishment of Glencoe Folk Museum, marking a key milestone in the redevelopment of the historic thatched-cottage museum. The project will add a climate‑controlled gallery, a gift shop and the museum’s first toilets, with reopening expected next spring. Project director David Rounce highlighted the museum’s broad historical scope and its origins in a 1960s community effort. Rising construction costs and delays had affected the plan, but fundraising support, including from actor Brian Cox, continues to help drive the project forward.
