Sully driver jailed after causing death of cyclist
A 20‑year‑old Sully man, Teddy Picton, received a seven‑year youth custody sentence and a driving ban after admitting to causing the death of 72‑year‑old cyclist Brad Craven in a dangerous driving collision in Cardiff. Picton, who had used alcohol and cocaine the night before and held only a provisional licence, struck Craven as he rode with his brother. Craven, described by family and the court as caring and community‑minded, died in hospital five weeks later. The judge condemned Picton’s actions and imposed a driving ban of more than nine years.
