Experts reveal the difference between white and brown eggs — it's not what you think
White and brown eggs are nutritionally, gastronomically and functionally alike; shell colour is determined primarily by the breed and physical characteristics of the hen. Differences in taste, yolk colour, freshness and nutritional content result from the hen’s diet, welfare, rearing conditions and the egg’s age, not its shell. Sainsbury’s decision to stock only white eggs is attributed to a claimed 12.7% lower carbon footprint, as white-egg-laying hens are generally more feed-efficient and productive.

Upstairs rooms will stay cool in heatwaves with simple 5-second trick
Upstairs rooms can become 5–15 degrees hotter than lower floors because warm air rises. The Met Office recommends closing curtains or blinds on sunny windows, keeping windows and doors shut during the hottest part of the day, opening windows in the evening when temperatures fall, and leaving internal doors open to improve airflow. Bedsheets or towels can provide temporary shade where window coverings are unavailable.

Ditch Cod and Salmon for a Cheaper, Better Ingredient for a 'Gorgeous' Fish Pie
Recipe developer Amy Sheppard recommends using 15 frozen fish fingers costing £1.50 instead of cod, haddock or salmon to make fish pie. The fish fingers are separated from their breadcrumbs, which are mixed with mozzarella and herbs to create a crunchy topping, while the fish is combined with a creamy vegetable and tartar sauce filling. The mixture is baked in individual pots or one large dish for 20 minutes at 200°C fan until golden and bubbling.

I Tried Sainsbury's Budget, Premium and Mid-Range Ice Cream — Here's My Verdict
A taste test compares three Sainsbury's own-brand vanilla ice creams priced from £1.50 to £3.50. The Stamford Street Co. budget option scores 5/10 for its nostalgic flavor but weak creaminess and rapid melting, while Sainsbury's standard soft scoop scores 6/10 as a slightly sweeter and more stable alternative. The Taste the Difference ice cream, made with double cream and Madagascan vanilla, scores 8/10 and is judged the clear winner despite its much higher price and smaller 480ml tub.
