Fawlty Towers star Prunella Scales left more than £3 million
Actress Prunella Scales, best known for playing Sybil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers, left UK assets of £3,376,585, with a net estate of £3,166,554 after liabilities. Her will included charitable donations, gifts to godchildren and a trust dividing the remainder among her sons Samuel and Joseph and her stepdaughter Juliet. An amendment accounted for significant lifetime gifts, including £300,000 given to Samuel for home renovations, while arrangements allowed her grandson Clement time to relocate before her home was sold. Scales died peacefully at home in London in October 2025 aged 93 after living with vascular dementia; she had retired from acting but continued watching Fawlty Towers shortly before her death.
