Pair hospitalised after Crimdon sea rescue day after two men tragically die
Two people were taken to hospital after four individuals were reported struggling in the water off Crimdon Dene beach, prompting a major emergency response involving Hartlepool RNLI and ambulance crews. The incident occurred one day after two men, including hero father Wayne Taylor, died while attempting to rescue children at Seaton Carew. RNLI crews recovered one person from the sea while three others returned to shore independently. Ambulance services transported two patients to North Tees Hospital. While responding, the RNLI all‑weather lifeboat was briefly redirected to a separate paddle‑boarder alert near Sunderland before returning to base.
