A woman from Southampton was diagnosed with stage‑three bowel cancer after low iron levels prevented her from donating blood, prompting her GP to order further tests that revealed a tumour. She underwent surgery to remove part of her bowel followed by chemotherapy, and now has no evidence of disease but will remain under surveillance for five years. She is sharing her experience to raise awareness of FIT testing and encourage others to take symptoms such as tiredness or unusual bowel issues seriously.
