Further men guilty of sexually abusing girl in care in Bradford
Four additional men were convicted of sexually abusing a girl in a Bradford children's home in the early 2000s, bringing the total number of offenders to 13. The victim, known as Anna, was exploited from the age of 13 and repeatedly went missing, with records showing inadequate protection despite clear warning signs. Previously convicted abusers included men who groomed, raped and in one case conducted an unlawful marriage ceremony with her at age 15. Police acknowledged historic failings but said recent efforts aim to address non‑recent exploitation cases. Anna called for improved long-term support for survivors as national grooming‑gang inquiries begin in Bradford, Keighley and other areas, while local officials stressed the need for accountability and reform.

Further men guilty of sexually abusing girl in care in Bradford
Four more men were convicted of sexually abusing a girl in care in Bradford in the early 2000s, bringing the total number of perpetrators to 13. The victim, known as Anna, was exploited from the age of 13 and continued to be abused after entering a children’s home. The newly convicted men were found guilty of rape and indecent assault and will be sentenced in October. Previous trials established that Anna was groomed, subjected to an unlawful marriage ceremony at 15, and repeatedly failed by authorities. Police acknowledged past shortcomings and highlighted renewed efforts to investigate historic exploitation. Anna called for significant improvements in survivor support as new local inquiries into grooming gangs begin in Bradford, Keighley, Oldham and London.

Rotherham grooming survivor feels 'let down' by early release plan
A survivor of the Rotherham grooming scandal says she feels betrayed after learning two of the men convicted of abusing her may be eligible for early release under new sentencing rules aimed at easing prison overcrowding. Sarah Wilson, abused from age 11, received notice that changes under the Sentencing Act 2026 could reduce the prison terms of her attackers, worsening her mental health. The Ministry of Justice said overcrowding required reforms and cited efforts to expand prison capacity, emphasising that dangerous offenders would still face long or full-term sentences.
