Testing showed that it quickly preserves the full transcript, labels each chatbot’s responses, removes interface clutter, and can either submit the new prompt automatically or leave it for editing. It is particularly useful when a user reaches a free chatbot’s usage limit or wants to compare models while retaining the context of prior exchanges. The extension cannot transfer images or files, may truncate very long conversations, and its planned free tier is limited to 10 transfers per month. Although ThreadPort temporarily stores transcripts locally and has no servers, transferred conversations are still shared with the destination AI provider, so it improves convenience rather than providing complete privacy or universal AI portability.
