Thursday is designated an impact day as scattered showers, heavy downpours and isolated strong to severe thunderstorms may produce flooding and gusty winds, mainly from the afternoon into early evening. Cooler, humid conditions are expected, followed by dry and sunny weather Friday. The weekend may bring additional showers and thunderstorms before a cooler, more comfortable stretch arrives next week.

The strong thunderstorm threat has ended across the Susquehanna Valley, with the severe thunderstorm watch canceled. Isolated showers and storms may continue overnight, followed by another humid Saturday with afternoon and evening thunderstorms, heavy rain and a marginal flash-flooding risk in low-lying areas. Sunday and Monday should be mainly dry but hot, while a cold front arriving Tuesday into Wednesday is expected to bring additional storms, lower temperatures and reduced humidity.

A persistent tropical airmass will bring increasing humidity and daily chances of showers and thunderstorms across the Susquehanna Valley from Wednesday through Saturday. Thursday and Friday carry a heightened risk of heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding, with a small chance of damaging winds. Conditions should become somewhat drier Sunday and Monday, though temperatures will remain above average, before another cold front brings additional showers and storms Tuesday into Wednesday.

Tuesday is expected to be the most comfortable day of the week in south-central Pennsylvania, with low humidity, sunshine, and highs in the mid-80s. Heat and humidity will increase from Wednesday onward, bringing daily chances of showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures approaching 90 degrees from Friday through the weekend. Storm chances should diminish Sunday and Monday before another system brings additional storms Tuesday into Wednesday.

After heavy rain and strong to severe thunderstorms moved across the Susquehanna Valley, isolated overnight thundershowers and patchy fog remain possible. A few showers may occur Wednesday and Thursday, followed by dry, seasonable weather Friday. The weekend will be mainly dry Saturday, while scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Sunday ahead of a cold front. Temperatures are forecast to rise into the upper 80s, potentially reaching 90 degrees by midweek next week, with generally low precipitation chances.

Temperatures in the Susquehanna Valley climb into the mid to upper 90s from Tuesday through Thursday, with humidity pushing heat index values above 100 degrees. Heat advisories are issued across multiple counties for Tuesday and Wednesday. Conditions ease slightly late in the week before cooler temperatures and increased chances of thunderstorms arrive Saturday, with more scattered storm opportunities early next week.

An EF-1 tornado with estimated peak winds of 100 mph touched down in southern Perry County, damaging wooded areas along Lamb’s Gap Road but causing no injuries. The National Weather Service reported the tornado was on the ground for four minutes, traveling 0.55 miles and reaching up to 300 yards in width. Survey crews observed numerous uprooted and broken trees, with the most significant damage near the State Game Lands. Findings remain preliminary pending final NWS review.
