A disposable barbecue that ignited vegetation in Sandyford Park caused a fast-moving fire in Stoke-on-Trent, destroying four properties and damaging several gardens. Dozens of residents were evacuated, while six firefighters were hospitalized with smoke inhalation or heat exhaustion. Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service attributed the spread to strong winds and extremely dry vegetation and urged people to take extra precautions.
