More than 100 passengers from Northern Ireland were stranded in Tunisia after an EasyJet flight to Belfast was cancelled on 23 August because of a technical problem. Families reported paying thousands of pounds for alternative flights and accommodation, receiving limited communication and support, and facing serious welfare concerns including bereavement, school and work commitments, and depleted medication. EasyJet said it had provided hotels and meals, would reimburse eligible expenses, and would operate an additional direct flight from Enfidha to Belfast to help return affected passengers.
