Little Darcy's memory lives on 13 years after tragic death with Bluebell Wood fundraising
A community football tournament created in memory of six‑year‑old Darcy Burke has raised more than £18,000 over 13 years to support Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, where she received end‑of‑life care. Founded to help Darcy’s family make memories following her diagnosis with a rare brain tumour, the event has expanded from a four‑team match to a 24‑team annual competition. Organisers plan to grow the tournament further with sponsorship and larger venues. Darcy’s family and hospice representatives expressed gratitude for the continued support, emphasising the impact of the funds on providing care for children with life‑limiting conditions across South Yorkshire.
