Fathia Eldakhakhny is a journalist based in Cairo Governorate, Egypt. Journalist with more than 16 years experience in gathering and editing news stories for print and online media, with a passion to travel abroad to learn and discover new places, covering news stories, and learn new development in a media environment, believe in the role of media in changing the world and make it better, worked in one of the most important newspaper in Egypt, for more than 12 years. Graduated from Press Department, Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, 2000. Worked as a freelance journalist until Jan 2004, then Joined AlMasry AlYoum Newspaper, as news reporter, responsible for the Ministry of Culture, the American Embassy in Cairo. Was also responsible of Palestinian issue and the Egyptian role in peace process, Covered the International Human Rights Organizations, and translated what had been written about Egypt in the international media. From 2008 joined the Multimedia Department at AMAY, covered news stories by video, because she believes the visual language is very important beside the written words, she became the Video Editor of AMAY in 2010, as a video editor she was responsible to manage a teamwork of cameramen, editors, video journalists, archive specialists, and manage AMAY Video Channel onYouTube, and video page on AMAY Website, also filmed and edited her own stories, she did short documentary films. Form August 2011, she was responsible for following and analyzing the international organizations publications, and think tanks reports about Egypt, in 2012 she became a presidential editor, responsible for covering the Egyptian President Activities from Jan 2016 she was promoted to be the AMAY Website Director. She worked part time as Regional Representative of Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW) in Egypt and other Arab Countries, from 2012 till 2015.
