Urgent 999 warning as manhunt launched for Sam Walsh in North Yorkshire
North Yorkshire Police has launched a manhunt for 49-year-old Sam Walsh, who is wanted in connection with alleged assaults and controlling and coercive behaviour. Walsh, from Colburn, is believed to have travelled to the Easington Colliery area of County Durham and has links to Colburn, Catterick and Peterlee. Police have urged the public to call 999 immediately after any sighting, or 101 and Crimestoppers with other information.

Met Office names 3 parts of Yorkshire among 45 UK areas to be hit by torrential rain on Wednesday - full list
The Met Office forecasts heavy rain across 45 counties in England and Scotland on Wednesday, with South, West and North Yorkshire among the areas expected to see the worst conditions. Weather maps show northern England and Scotland facing widespread downpours while the Midlands and southern England remain mostly dry. A yellow warning is in effect for parts of Scotland, with potential rainfall of up to 40mm causing possible flooding and travel disruption. A heatwave is expected to follow later in the week.
