Two men died after entering the sea at Seaton Carew to help two children who were struggling in the water. Emergency services, including the RNLI, Coastguard and ambulance crews, responded and rescued the children, who were taken to hospital as a precaution. The men were pulled from the water but pronounced dead despite medical efforts. Police stated the deaths are not being treated as suspicious and urged the public to avoid entering open water due to safety risks.
