Liverpool are preparing an opening bid of about £98 million for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, despite expecting PSG to reject it. The French club reportedly wants between £128.5 million and £145.6 million for the 23-year-old, who has two years left on his contract. Barcola is Liverpool’s primary summer target, with personal terms reportedly agreed and manager Andoni Iraola identifying a winger as a priority. Liverpool’s transfer activity has otherwise been limited, while PSG’s strengthened squad could make Barcola’s departure more feasible, though negotiations are being led by Richard Hughes and remain difficult.

Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan confirmed that Fenway Sports Group remains in discussions with a consortium led by former Queens Park Rangers co-owner Amit Bhatia over a potential minority investment in Liverpool. The proposed deal could value the club at £4.5 billion and involve as much as a 30% stake. Bhatia has reportedly approached Amazon founder Jeff Bezos about joining the consortium, although Bezos has not committed. FSG previously sold a small stake to Dynasty Equity in 2023. The talks come as Liverpool faces wider uncertainty following a disappointing season, Arne Slot's replacement by Andoni Iraola, Michael Edwards' departure, and questions over sporting director Richard Hughes' future.
