Scotland Under 20s 'in good place' as impressive win over Argentina sets up chance to equal best ever finish
Scotland secured a 44-26 victory over Argentina in the Junior World Championship fifth–eighth place semi-final in Tbilisi, scoring seven tries and controlling key periods despite disciplinary swings. Strong conditioning and composure were highlighted by head coach Fergus Pringle as the team set up a chance to match its best-ever fifth-place finish by beating Wales in the final match. Joe Roberts scored twice, with additional tries from Hamish MacArthur, Ollie Blyth-Lafferty, Nairn Moncrieff, Jamie Stewart and Harvey Preston, while Argentina narrowed the gap through three second-half tries before Scotland pulled away decisively late on.
