A6 speed limit updated on stretch between Lancaster University and Galgate
Lancashire County Council has approved a new 50mph speed limit on the A6 Main Road at Galgate, replacing an earlier order. The restriction covers the section from 150 metres south of Green Lane in Ellel to 292 metres north of Tanhouse in Galgate and takes effect on August 31, 2026. A separate order coming into force the same day introduces waiting prohibitions on two sections of Golgotha Road in Bowerham.
