Man jailed for stabbing his ex-wife 12 times while she pushed a pram
Osarenkhoe Atutie was sentenced to nine years, including seven years and six months in custody followed by 18 months on licence, after admitting attempting to murder his estranged wife, Victory Atutie, in Edinburgh. He stabbed her 12 times while she pushed their child in a pram, causing a collapsed lung and bleeding in the chest. Three members of the public disarmed and restrained him, likely saving her life. The judge cited his planning, the attack occurring in front of their child, and his limited appreciation of the harm caused. An indefinite non-harassment order bans Atutie from contacting or approaching his wife.
