‘Survive the End of the World’: The Bomb Shelter Turned Into Luxury Apartments in Canada
A former Cold War nuclear bunker in Debert, Nova Scotia, is being converted into 50 luxury, crisis-proof residential units by cryptocurrency magnate Jonathan Baha’i’s Fallout Complex Inc. The planned complex will include round-the-clock security, medical services, locally produced food, a spa, hotel rentals, and an expanded high-security data center, with completion expected in early 2027. Supporters say the project could attract tourism, create more than 40 jobs, and stimulate the local economy, while critics fear the privatization of a significant historical site and prices beyond the reach of residents. The development reflects growing demand for private disaster-preparedness facilities in Canada and the United States.

Cold War bunker to be converted into luxury homes where people can 'escape the end of the world'
A former Cold War bunker in Debert, Nova Scotia, known as The Diefenbunker, is set to be converted into 50 luxury residences for wealthy clients seeking protection from nuclear attacks, extreme weather and other disasters. Developer Jonathan Baha'i plans to add biometric access, medical services, 24-hour security, drones, private-aircraft access, high-end food, a spa, yoga facilities, artificial sunlight and underground farming. Eleven homes have reportedly been sold, while the project is expected to begin in early 2027. The bunker was built to shelter 329 government personnel for at least 30 days, later served as an emergency-management facility and closed in 1996. The redevelopment is also intended to create hotel, tourism and data-center jobs in the Debert area.
