Historic Durham Pub to Re-open as 'Destination' Eatery After £3m Refurbishment
The Court Inn in Durham, which closed in 2020 after around 150 years, is due to reopen as The Court, a pub and restaurant with an adjoining four-suite aparthotel called The Sanctuary Knocker. Imad Ali, Richard Nellis and Terry Haley have invested £3.3 million in the redevelopment, drawing on their experience in property, construction and hospitality. The venue will include a bar and restaurant, create about 20 jobs and aim to combine high-quality food and design with an accessible atmosphere.
