Preview: Sheffield 'homecoming' album launch for soul star and new mum Kat Eaton
Sheffield-raised soul singer Kat Eaton will return to Crookes Social Club on October 3, 2026, for a homecoming launch show supporting her third album, What Happens Now. The album followed the birth of her daughter, Ada June, and was produced with longtime collaborator Nick Atkinson, combining soul, jazz and pop with live instrumentation recorded at Reason & Rhyme Studios and London's Konk Studios. Supported by BBC Radio 2, 6 Music and Jazz FM, Eaton is taking the album on a UK and European tour while releasing independently through Reason & Rhyme Records.

Indie-pop's Anya Goel to support fellow Doncaster star ADMT on UK tour
Doncaster singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Anya Goel will support fellow Doncaster artist ADMT on his sold-out UK tour from May 22 to June 5, 2026. The dates include shows in Birmingham, London, Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds, giving Goel access to larger audiences after support from BBC Introducing, Spotify playlist placements and performances including Wild Live at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. ADMT, whose real name is Adam Taylor, is promoting his debut album From Good To Bad Then Back Again and has previously toured with Louis Tomlinson, Anne-Marie and James Arthur.

Steel City Survivors: Inspirational Sheffield heroes to tell their stories in new charity book
Sheffield author Neil Anderson is preparing Steel City Survivors, a charity book featuring more than 40 life stories from local people who overcame adversity and built lives in the city. Property developer David Slater is privately funding the project, whose proceeds will support Roundabout, a charity assisting young people at risk of homelessness. Featured figures include Pulp drummer Nick Banks, entrepreneur David Grey MBE and restaurateur Richard Smith, alongside Anderson’s own account of overcoming early academic failure.

Mission Christmas: Gift appeal launched to bring joy to 18,000 local children – here's how to help
Cash for Kids has launched its annual Mission Christmas appeal across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, seeking gifts and donations for 18,000 children facing poverty and hardship. Supporters can donate gifts at participating B&M and Wickes stores, buy gifts online, or text a £10 donation. The charity helped 18,050 local children receive presents in 2024 and is urging the public to contribute amid the continuing cost-of-living crisis.
