Legacy funerals heartbreak - 'This can never be allowed to happen again'
Robert Bush, owner of Legacy Independent Funeral Directors, was sentenced to 20 years at Hull Crown Court after pleading guilty to offences involving the unlawful handling of deceased people, fraud, theft from charities and fraudulent funeral plans. Families believed loved ones had been buried or cremated, but some bodies remained at the Hessle Road premises, while others received no ashes or ashes that were not those of their relatives. The case has prompted the Government to announce urgent plans to regulate the funeral sector, with the Department of Health and Social Care working alongside the Ministry of Justice and Law Commission to prevent similar abuse.

Cyclist, 40, suffers life-threatening injuries in Raich Carter Way collision
A 40-year-old cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after a collision with a silver Vauxhall Mokka on Raich Carter Way in Hull shortly before midnight on July 3.
