Ellie Taylor is reportedly set to host the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two after the departures of Janette Manrara and Fleur East. The former Strictly contestant is said to have been hired as part of a broader presenting overhaul, although the BBC declined to comment on the speculation. Johannes Radebe, Emma Willis and Josh Widdicombe have also reportedly secured presenting roles following Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly’s departure from the main programme. Strictly Come Dancing is scheduled to return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer in September 2026.

Proposals are advancing to overhaul UK TV licence rules, with all households, including those in Scotland, likely to be affected. A petition calling for a national referendum on whether to abolish the licence argues that the public should decide the BBC’s funding model. The BBC currently relies on the licence fee for most of its income, supporting programming, global services, S4C and local reporting. A separate petition with more than 60,000 signatures demands government-funded free licences for all pensioners, challenging current rules that limit free licences to over-75s receiving Pension Credit or certain other qualifying groups.
