Mum in tears as family's £6.5k holiday ruined by passport validity issue at Gatwick
A mother and her two children were prevented from boarding an easyJet flight from Gatwick to Egypt after staff found that the daughter’s passport did not meet Egypt’s six‑month validity requirement. The family, who had saved £6,500 for the two‑week holiday, had already checked in, passed security and reached the gate before being stopped. The mother said she was unaware of the rule and had received the passport only the day before travel. With no refund available, the family are now seeking an emergency passport in hopes of salvaging part of the trip.
