Trafford local plan reveals sites for 30,000 new homes
Trafford Council has released a draft local plan outlining sites for nearly 28,000 new homes and substantial employment space through 2039, with most development focused in the north of the borough. Major projects include 15,000 homes around Old Trafford linked to proposed stadium redevelopment, thousands more at Pomona, Trafford Waters and the Civic Quarter, and numerous smaller housing and employment allocations. The plan must be submitted to the UK Government by year-end before new rules increase the borough’s housing requirement, and will proceed to public consultation on its suitability and compliance with national policy.
